Southland Times: Southern mayors ask Government to hit pause on national Three Water reforms


Southland Times has published an article about the request for pause on the Three Waters reform process. This is relevant to Lake Hāwea due to our specific problems relating to Three Water’s infrastructure.

“The mayors of Otago and Southland have called for a pause to the current three waters reform process to allow their councils to gain all the information they need, and then engage with their communities on the decisions they have to make.

The group, known as zone six in the water reforms, has written to Minister of Local Government Nanaia Mahuta to formally request a pause to the process.”
