We have a fresh, new-look website!
We are beyond thrilled to re-launch our website, which has had a major upgrade in content and design.
A huge thank you to Lake Hāwea resident Zoë Brock, whose website and design company, WWD, donated hours of design services, coding and expertise to make sure the site looks and functions perfectly and to Jess McDougall and Joanna Williamson for managing the huge task of website content. Jess’s marketing experience and skills have been invaluable throughout this process.
Cherilyn Walthew, HCA Chairperson, is excited to see the site go live:
“We are absolutely delighted to present to the Community our latest Hāwea Community Association website.
It has been a long and arduous journey for many volunteers from the website’s inception several years ago by Tim Ryan and Gwilym Griffith-Jones, to evolve to what we have today. I would like to acknowledge the many hours of volunteer work that have gone into this, with the initial re-design driven by Di Kenton, the on-going labours of Joanna Williamson with editing and content, the specialist skills of Jess McDougall around communications, Zoe Brock and her expertise around web design and development and, Danny Mollan for advice on audience engagement.
What we now present to you is a beautifully designed website that we hope will incorporate every need of our Hāwea residents.
At a time when communication has become restricted, we are delighted to offer the Hāwea Community a dedicated site focused on communicating the opportunities and needs of our community. Thank you so much to everyone who made this happen.”
We hope locals enjoy the easy-to-use calendar and directory sections. Now you will be able to see what is coming up this week, month, year - and search the directory to support local brands, services, businesses and people. In addition to this being an incredible resource for residents, we know this is going to be a great tool for tourists, visitors and people researching Hāwea as a place to live.
If you’d like to be added to the directory, please reach out via the link at the top of the Directory page.
If you have an event that you would like to add, please follow the link on the Calendar page.
We have a history section, and sections devoted to the environment and important initiatives.
As always, volunteering and memberships to the HCA are important. If you feel the calling to do one or both, we would appreciate hearing from you.
We think this new website will serve our wonderful community well for a long time to come.
