Mountain Film Festival in on now

The Mountain Film Festival is in its 19 year and is organised by Hawea residents Mark & Jo Sedon.

The 19th NZ Mountain Film and Book Festival presents a wide range of films, guest speakers, workshops and presentations from inspirational adventurers.

The films and books tell stories of adventure sports, foreign cultures, remote travel and environmental issues. There are 69 films, 20 speakers, workshops, environmental shows, film and writing school, art displays, live music, trade show and loads of good quality socialising.

The event runs in Wanaka until 29th June, and is online from June 25th to July 25th.

For details of the full programme visit the website: https://mountainfilm.nz/

For details of the 'online' programme see the website: https://mountainfilm.nz/online-festival/

The Festival is run by a non-profit charitable trust and is a registered charity.

Hāwea Film Group is being organised

The Hāwea Friendship and Support Group are in the process of starting a Film Club

This group will run along the same lines as a book club - but instead of books, the members will all attend a film together at Paradiso and then afterwards will meet to discuss the film over tea / coffee / drinks / cakes - or whatever !! It is contemplated that the group would meet for a film / discussion twice each month - one session in the afternoon and the other in the evening.

Anyone is welcome to take part and there would be no need for members to participate in every session

Actual details will be arranged once the group / or groups are formed.

If you would like to be involved, please send your name and details to:

Isabell Sinclair-Irwin at irwin.sinclair@gmail.com

Yoga with Danni at Lake Hāwea

Weekly Hāwea Yoga is back from this Thursday 24 June - please note there has been a slight change of time to accommodate those getting back from work in time to join us. Even though I am doing these classes in 6 week blocks, you don't need to book for the entire block, all classes are drop in (There is just the option of a cheaper pass if you are able to commit to the whole 6 weeks.) Feel free to message beforehand if you would like to book your spot for either a single class or the whole 6 weeks. If you have classes left on your pass from the last block, you are free to use them in this block too. As always, I believe Yoga should be available for everyone, so please send me a message if you'd like to join but aren't able to make the financial commitment at this time. If you have any questions, please send them through to me.

I look forward to seeing you on your mat.
