The Hāwea-Wānaka Pony Club was formed in 1957. It is a branch of the Central Otago Pony Club, which is part of the Otago Southland Pony Club Area. Through this we are affiliated with the NZPCA (New Zealand Pony Club Association).

Pony Club meets every Wednesday from 4.30pm (daylight permitting) at the Hāwea Domain, Domain Rd, Lake Hāwea.

Members take their ponies every second week and on the alternate weeks the focus is on theory and horsemanship.

Pony Club is held from August to May, with a break over winter.
